Maybe you already love yoga.
You know that feeling after a class when something has shifted — your body feels different, your mind is quieter, and for a while, you feel more like yourself.
Or maybe you're newer to yoga. You've tried a class or two, or you've always felt curious about what yoga is beyond the movement.

Because yoga can be hard to put into words.
It's not just the shapes. It's the breath, the stillness, the moments of quiet, the feeling of being completely present.
And perhaps you've wondered: what else is there?
What are mantra and meditation really about? What does yoga philosophy have to do with everyday life? What else has this ancient practice held all along?
Heart of Yoga Retreat is an invitation to explore those deeper layers — slowly, gently, and without needing to know anything beforehand.
Yoga was never just about the poses.
For many of us, the physical practice is where we meet yoga.
We move, we breathe, we stretch, we strengthen. We learn to listen to our bodies and find a little more space within them.
And that's beautiful.
But it's only one part of a much bigger tradition.
Yoga also invites us into breath and meditation, sound and mantra, mudra, philosophy, stillness and deep rest.
These aren't separate practices added onto yoga. They're part of yoga's deeper story.

You don't need to know the Sanskrit, understand the philosophy, or have years of experience to explore them.
You simply need to be curious.
For one unhurried day, we'll step beyond the familiar poses and experience these other layers for ourselves — moving slowly, breathing deeply, exploring the wisdom behind the practice, and making space for stillness and rest.
This is yoga beyond the poses.
That's what is Heart of Yoga is.
Heart of Yoga Retreat is a full day to slow down and explore the layers of yoga that most classes simply don't have time for.
We'll move slowly. We'll breathe.
We'll explore the philosophy behind the practice, experience mantra and mudra, settle into meditation, and rest deeply with Yoga Nidra.
Nothing to achieve. Nothing you need to already know.
Just space to be curious, go deeper, and experience yoga in a different way.
Whether you've practised for years or you're simply drawn to something deeper, you belong in this room.

You will be guided gently and provided with space to experience each practice at your own pace.

Unhurried, breath-led movement. Not a workout — a conversation between your body and your breath, with space to actually feel each shape.

The bigger picture behind the practice. We'll explore the eight limbs in simple, grounded language and discover how yoga has always been about more than what happens on the mat.

The practice of sound. We'll explore gentle chanting and mantra as a way to quiet the noise and become more present — no performance, no pressure.

The subtle language of the hands. Simple gestures that offer another way to connect with the practice, attention and intention.

Guided stillness. Space to settle the mind and meet the quiet underneath it — approached gently, with no expectation of having a perfectly still mind.

The deep rest. A guided practice of "yogic sleep" that invites the body to soften and the mind to let go.

A shared lunch and afternoon tea, and a full day alongside others who are curious about exploring yoga more deeply.
Here's what some of our retreat guests have shared about their experience with New Dawn Wellness.

Yoga Teacher | Women's Wellness Coach | Founder of New Dawn Wellness
Hi, I'm Dawn.
I've always felt that yoga is about so much more than the poses. The deeper I've travelled into the breath, philosophy, meditation and stillness, the more I've come to see yoga as a way of living — something that continues to support me through all of life's seasons.
I created Heart of Yoga as an invitation to explore that deeper side of the practice together.
Whether you've been practising for years or you're simply curious about what else yoga has to offer, I'd love to share this day with you.
My teaching is gentle, warm and unhurried. There's nothing you need to achieve or already know. Just come as you are, be curious, and give yourself the space to explore.
I'd love to welcome you.
With love,
Dawn xx
